Guinn Engagement

My friend, European travel partner, and fellow photographer Nathan Guinn got engaged earlier this year and gave me the privilege of shooting his engagement photos.  Further, he asked me to photograph his December wedding which will be my first wedding job!  The shots were all taken around Roswell, GA, and while I did the photography Nathan did all of the post-processing work.  Enjoy.

Hamilton Engagement

A few weeks back I was fortunate enough to take some engagement shots of Emily and Kyle, both fellow first years here at Duke Divinity.  I met Emily the first day of orientation when she approached and asked if I had attended Furman.  In the midst of so much unknown, I replied enthusiastically and immediately we discovered that while we didn't know each other in undergrad we had many mutual friends and plenty in common.  I got to know Kyle during a small class we had together fall semester, and I have greatly enjoyed spending time with them as individuals and as a couple.

It was a joy taking these photos, despite the hundreds of people meandering through Duke Gardens on the first warm day of spring!  This was my first engagement shoot since I've moved to the Durham / RDU area and I look forward to more in the near future.  Please feel free to email me if you're interested in my services.

McClure Engagement

Two of my friends, Todd and Sally, asked me to do a small set of engagement photos for them. Often, my first reaction to requests for portraits is to shy away, as I regularly feel this is one of my weakest areas. There is a great deal of pressure to get the right "shot" and I often take a ton of photos hoping a few will turn out without having to call someone back to reshoot them. However, sometimes stepping out of my comfort zone is well worth it.

I travelled with Todd and Sally throughout Europe and they are a couple whose relationship I have admired and seen grow over the years.

Engaged

While at home in Conyers this Christmas I had the amazing opportunity to photograph my brother Will and his fiance Farley. They were the first couple I have photographed and they were such a joy to work with.

I'd love some feedback from friends, family, and others reading my blog regarding my first attempt at engagement photos.
